About Paganus Woodworking

Paganus Woodworking is part of established North Wales business Original Outdoors.

Richard Prideaux is an experienced outdoor instructor, author, photographer and lecturer – but his first love was woodworking. It was how he started out, learning his craft by building everything from shelves, staircases and garden gates to stables, summerhouses and fitted bespoke kitchens. He learned how to work wood by hand, by power tool and turn a clients vision into a hand-crafted wooden creation.

Paganus Woodworking is based on the edge of the village of Rhewl, Ruthin, Denbighshire in North Wales and our services are available across North Wales, Cheshire, Shropshire and beyond.

We love working with wood. It is a material that is versatile, strong, and (if properly sourced through FSC and other sustainable sources) good for the environment. From the same pieces of wood we could fashion a fence or a fascia, a shelf or a summerhouse, a boot rack or a banister – all beautifully crafted to fit in with your home, garden or business.

About Our Name

Paganus Woodworking is named after on of Richard’s Ancestors, Paganus de Pridias. The Prideaux family have had a history of carpentry, woodworking and cabinet making for several centuries across the South West of England – it seemed only right that we should honour that heritage with the name of our woodworking business in North Wales.
